This is me.

Hello, my name is Mark Wieger and this is my web site for my artwork. Here I will post works from my past dabblings and my most recent 3D work that I used to be able to show on the web site 3D Commune. Unfortunately that site is no more. Go there and see what happened. Not a fun time in my life at the moment but still - it's life and we're all here for a reason... mine is still being laid out...

A little about me... I'm 49 and married to my beautiful wife Becky. We have one child around, Devin 27 living in Kalamazoo, Michigan with his room mate who is also legally blind like Devin. My wife Becky has MS and I take care of her and Devin both. To read more about our family go to our family section.

We have two other children that we miss dearly and wish and hope that someday we can see them bothl again.

And now on to my artistic history...

Well now let's see where to begin? I guess it all started with my mothers artistic talent getting passed down to me. There has only been one other artist person in my family tree and that is my uncle.

My mom said I was always interested in art in whatever form I could muster at a young age. No matter if it was crayons or water colors or just pencil and paper I was always drawing and sketching. One of the first things I can remember is getting in trouble for drawing a crayon picture of my 2nd grade teacher naked on my bedroom wall!!! Believe it or not I drew her completely nude except that she had a man's tie on and a blue tongue. When my mother questioned me about it and asked why the teachers tongue was blue I smartly answered "because she's been eating blueberry's of course! " My mom could barely hold in the laughter and proceeded to tell me that it was ok to draw nudes as long as you didn't make them look or appear dirty. :^)

Thus began my long love of the female form. (Apparently I never had a good answer as to why the picture of my teacher only having a man's tie on)

Let's see, from there I'll leap forward a few years to highschool where I took commercial art as my vocational class for 3 hours in my junior and senior years.

I was confident that I wanted to work in the arts as my job. I had a great teacher unfortunately we goofed off way to much, I found a girlfriend in the photography class and didn't do too much work. :^)

Skipping ahead again to art school way after I got married... I attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for computer animation and multimedia. I only went for one year due to money and my wifes health problems. While I was there I did quite well and learned a lot. I worked on Animator Pro, cel animation, drawing and a little 3D Studio. I was a lab monitor in the Mac labs and was on the student council and started a group called the "Cel" As far as I know that group is still alive and kicking. I was the president for the year that I was there.

When I left there and came back home I got a job at a multimedia company called BKR Studio. They did mainly photography and multimedia work. When I joined they were just getting into web design and I got dumped in the webmasters position even though I knew nothing about it. :^)

I also did a little 3D Max animation for their web site/commercial as well. I ended up doing about 20 sites while working there and eventually got hired away by one of their largest clients.

That client was National Kart News a go cart racing magazine that owned two other companies, The Sound Company and Easy Ponds. I did all three of their web sites while I worked for them. From there I realized this was not my dream and left to start my own company.

I left and opened up a web design hosting company called BECamation. That name is a combination of my wife's name (becky) and animation. BEC amation. :^)

I've been doing that successfully ever since. Then I started A1HostCo another web hosting company. From there I started and have been running a 3D Graphics community called 3DCommune.

Now I'm starting to get back into my love of 3D Graphics and have been working with Poser and Vue as my main programs.
