A new cooperation agreement between Fieldmade AS, the mobile additive manufacturing expert, and the Mark3D Group, the largest Markforged partner in Europe, will ensure sales and support for the NOMAD® Lightweight (LW) series of mobile 3D printing solutions across the DACH, UK, and Benelux regions.

Lillestrøm & Birmingham & Haiger – October 2022 – Fieldmade AS and Mark3D today announced a strategic partnership agreement that will see Mark3D supply Fieldmade Nomad® LW mobile 3D printers exclusively in the UK, DACH and Benelux regions.

The announcement marks a step change in the go-to-market strategy for sales, support, and maintenance of the Fieldmade Nomad® LW series powered by Markforged. Jostein Olsen, CEO of Fieldmade AS, further explains: "Fieldmade AS specializes in several key areas; our products and services include digital inventory management, consulting services, and the Nomad product range for field additive manufacturing. It makes sense for us to collaborate with the UK-based Markforged specialist Mark3D to enhance our offerings for the UK defense and energy sectors, which have shown significant interest in our LW products."

The Nomad LW is based on the award-winning Mark Two from Markforged Inc., which has proven very popular with engineers of all disciplines. Ian Weston, Managing Director of Mark3D UK, emphasizes: "The Mark Two has a very compact and portable size, it is very easy to operate and, combined with its ability to print parts stronger than aluminum, it is the obvious choice for mission-critical 3D printing. The LW can be easily transported to its destination by air, water, and land. Thanks to the built-in uninterruptible power supply (UPS), engineers can even transport the unit while it is still printing. The main advantage of the Nomad® LW is its continuous operation at the point of need, even in the most extreme and remote environments.

The Nomad® LW comes with a maintenance package, a service contract, and enough materials for several months. It also comes with a robust carrying case that allows for damage-free transport. Ian continues, "It's entirely conceivable that these devices will be parachuted from airplanes or arrive in remote jungle areas after days of travel in the back of an off-road vehicle; the only consideration is a power source for extended prints and to recharge the UPS."

The Nomad® LW is one of the Nomad offerings available from Fieldmade AS. Larger solutions are available in Nomad 1, Nomad 2, or Nomad 3 configurations, tailored to the end customer's requirements. These solutions provide the user with a prefabricated microfactory that can be deployed anywhere in the world. Materials include polymer, composite, and metal, offering the widest possible choice. Integration with Fieldmade Digital Inventory software means it is now possible to access fully aggregated, print-ready files with supporting metadata and print them on demand anywhere, anytime.
