With the "Global EY Report 2019 on Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing," EY is reporting on the development of additive manufacturing for the third time in a row, examining it from various perspectives. Is 3D printing just a passing phenomenon or is it a sustainable technology that is redefining manufacturing? 

  • The technology has attracted so much attention that two-thirds of the companies surveyed have already had their first experiences with the technology.

  • 651 tp3t of the companies surveyed have experience in additive manufacturing (AM) – compared to 241 tp3t in 2016.

  • More than three out of four (78%) aerospace companies use 3DP – more than any other industry.

  • 43% of the companies surveyed say 3DP helps to better meet customer needs.

In its first year, the Markforged Metal X has already achieved a 91% market share of the global metal 3D printer market. Leading global companies such as Siemens, Google, Amazon, and Volkswagen rely on Markforged technology.
