Is industrial 3D printing more than just prototyping?

In the current issue of AUTOCAD & Inventor Magazine, I was interviewed in an expert panel alongside other people from the world of additive manufacturing.

Many companies that want to integrate additive manufacturing into their production processes are entering new territory and their design processes also have to rethink.

In the conversation, I explained what is important and which applications are already being successfully implemented and offer orientation.

The following questions were addressed:
✅ What should companies pay particular attention to when integrating additive manufacturing processes into existing production lines?
✅ What does the use of these processes mean for the way products are developed and designed?
✅ Can you please give us an example of this?
✅ What important developments and advances do you still consider desirable in additive manufacturing?

As always, I answered the questions very pragmatically. The learning curve in additive manufacturing is enormous, especially for designers.

Companies can best recognize the potential of the technology when they see what other companies are already successfully producing using additive manufacturing.
