Product development with SOLIDWORKS topology optimization

The goals of every designer should be shorter development times, fulfillment of function and application, and optimal cost-effectiveness. Unfortunately, the reality is often different – and some stumbling blocks can arise, such as

  • Can I even make it like this?
  • Doesn’t this make the overall construction too complicated?
  • How can the design be made appealing?

The SOLIDWORKS topology study offers three possible objectives:

  • Best stiffness-to-weight ratio (default setting)
  • Minimizing the maximum displacement
  • Minimizing mass with constraint

In the video, Isabelle Geil from COFFEE GmbH explains how to use the topology study with SOLIDWORKS.
