1.4542 stainless steel

3D metal printing more affordable than ever.

When should you print with 1.4542 stainless steel?

1.4542 PH stainless steel is a hard, stiff, and corrosion-resistant stainless steel. It is ideal for manufacturing environments and low-volume parts.

  • Production of small series
  • Spare parts
  • Complex geometries
  • Corrosion-resistant parts

Almost wrought iron hardness

3D printed 1.4542 PH stainless steel exceeds MIM standards, achieving a strength of 95% with the same heat treatment.

Handling 1.4542 stainless steel

1.4542 stainless steel is best heat-treated to maximize strength, hardness, or toughness. In the H900 temper, your part is heated to 900°F (482°C) for four hours to produce the strongest and hardest parts. The H1150 temper (1150°F instead of 900°F) can also be used to maximize toughness at the expense of tensile strength.

Compatible with our Metal X system.
