Based on our fourth-generation composite 3D printing technology, the Metal X is a brand-new 3D printer. By printing metal powder bonded within a plastic matrix, we've eliminated the safety risks of traditional metal 3D printing while enabling new features like closed-cell infill for lighter weight and lower cost.
At the interface of 3D printing and metal injection molding, ADAM (ATOMIC DIFFUSION ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING) a completely new way of building metal parts.
This process can save you time from design to strong metal parts. ADAM prints your part using a bonded metal powder rod that transforms into a dense metal part in one simple step. Plastic-bonded metal powder is gradually printed into the shape of your part. Parts are scaled up to compensate for shrinkage during the sintering process. Printed parts undergo a washing stage to remove some of the binder. They are then sintered in a furnace, where the metal powder melts into solid metal. After sintering, you receive a ready-to-use part made of pure metal with a density of up to 99.7%. You can machine and treat this part like any other metal part.
Large installation space enables larger components
The large build volume of the Metal X enables the automotive, aerospace, and many other industries to produce main components, individual parts, or spare parts quickly and cost-effectively. The components are printed with a layer height of 50 μm, ensuring even the smallest details are extremely precise.
Laser-assisted construction process control
The Metal X represents a milestone in quality and precision. Using cloud-based Eiger software and a laser sensor on the print head, you can scan the part during the printing process to ensure that all requirements are met.
Print components with the known precision & tolerance
Define tolerance specifications in EIGER, the included cloud-based 3D printing software. Your part is scanned throughout the entire printing process to ensure your requirements are consistently met. If an error is detected, you'll receive a notification and have the option to stop the print remotely, saving time and material.
