What is Onyx GF?<\/span><\/h2><\/div>

Onyx\u00ae GF is a glass-fibre-filled nylon that combines the proven strength, stiffness, and printability of Markforged Onyx with the practical benefits of colour-coded manufacturing. Available in Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, Grey and White, it enables manufacturers to improve visual management, enhance workplace safety, and support FOD prevention programmes without compromising part performance.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a non-conductive material with RF transparency, Onyx GF is also ideal for antenna enclosures, sensor housings, and other applications where eletrical conductivity could affect performance.<\/span><\/p>\n

For applications requiring even greater strength and stiffness, Onyx GF can be reinforced with Continuous Carbon Fibre to create high-performance composite parts suitable for demanding industrial environments.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

When Should You Print with Onyx GF?<\/span><\/h2><\/div>

Onyx GF is ideal when colour can add value to your manufacturing process.<\/span><\/p>\n

Colour-coded jigs, fixtures, and production tooling allow operators to instantly identify the correct tool, reducing setup errors and helping to prevent costly rework. Safety-critical features such as touch points, pinch points, and machine guards can be highlighted directly on printed parts, improving visibility and operator awareness.<\/p>\n

In aerospace and defence environments, highly visible tooling can support Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention programmes by making tools and fixtures easier to identify and recover.<\/p>\n

Because Onyx GF can also be reinforced with Continuous Carbon Fibre, manufacturers can achieve the same high-performance mechanical properties expected from Markforged composite parts while benefiting from the operational advantages of colour.<\/p>\n
