Our customer from Germany, Primetall GmbH, needs individual jigs for some components in order to clamp them on a laser welding machine. These jigs were previously made of aluminium and were very heavy and expensive to manufacture.<\/p>\n

In the process of some considerations, this jig was optimized with additive manufacturing, using a Markforged 3D printer. The jig was reinforced inside with a carbon continuous fibre. It was also possible to add a zero point clamping system and integrate channels inside the fixture. Now forming gas can be directed to wherever it is needed – with only one gas connection! It was practically “drilled around the corner”. That is manufacturing redefined.<\/p>\n
