A new generation of mobile LiDAR scanning has arrived. The Artec Jet enables rapid, survey-grade 3D mapping of large environments, even in GPS-denied conditions.
The launch of the Artec Jet from Artec 3D marks a significant step forward in how these environments can be digitised.
What is the Artec Jet Mobile LiDAR Scanner?
Designed as a high-speed mobile LiDAR mapping system, Artec Jet captures up to 1.9 million points per second, delivering survey-grade accuracy while dramatically reducing the time required to scan complex environments. With a working range of 0.5 to 300 metres and accuracy of up to 10mm, even in indoor or underground conditions, it is built for real-world industrial use.
Scan Anywhere: Mobile LiDAR for Complex and GPS-Denied Environments
Unlike traditional systems, the Jet uses advanced SLAM (Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping) technology combined with AI-driven autonomy. This allows users to scan effectively in GPS-denied environments such as factories, tunnels, and infrastructure assets, removing a major limitation of conventional survey workflows.
Flexible Deployment for Real-World Industrial Applications
One of the most powerful aspects of the system is its flexibility. The Jet can be deployed handheld, mounted to a backpack, or integrated onto robots, vehicles, or drones. This enables teams to adapt their scanning approach depending on the environment, while also improving safety by reducing the need for manual access to hazardous areas.
For organisations working with large physical assets, the impact is significant. Tasks that previously took hours, or even days, can now be completed in minutes, enabling faster decision-making and more efficient project delivery.
Typical applications include:
- As-built documentation
- Volumetric measurement
- Inspection and verification
- Clash detection
- Digital twin creation
Industries such as construction, mining, defence, and civil infrastructure stand to benefit most, particularly where speed, safety, and data accuracy are critical.
From Large-Scale Scanning to Digital Twin Workflows
The Artec Jet also strengthens the wider Artec ecosystem. Working alongside systems such as the Artec Ray II for long-range scanning and the Artec Leo for high-resolution object capture, it enables a complete end-to-end workflow, from large environments down to fine detail components.
As digital workflows continue to evolve, the ability to rapidly capture accurate, real-world data is becoming a competitive advantage. The Artec Jet positions itself as a key tool in enabling that shift.
