Artec Leo

The world’s first wireless and AI-driven 3D scanner

Ready. Set. Scan.

The Artec Leo is the world’s first wireless, AI-driven 3D scanner designed to make professional 3D scanning easier to use in manufacturing, engineering and inspection environments.

With onboard processing, a built-in touchscreen and real-time scanning guidance, the Artec Leo 3D scanner allows users to scan without being connected to a computer. Simply pick up the scanner, aim at the object and start capturing data.

The Artec Leo is suitable for scanning large objects, capturing fine details and supporting applications such as reverse engineering, inspection and quality control.

Why choose the Artec Leo

The Artec Leo is built for users who need professional 3D scanning without the restrictions of cables, external computers or complex setup.

Its wireless design, onboard processing and interactive touchscreen make it practical for scanning in workshops, production environments, tight spaces, remote locations and on the move.

Together, these features make the Artec Leo suitable for professionals who need a flexible, easy-to-use 3D scanning workflow with real-time feedback during the scan.

3D scanning for manufacturing with Artec Leo

Ready. Set. Scan.

Artec Leo makes 3D scanning as simple as capturing a video. Users can see a 3D replica being built in real time on the integrated touchscreen, making it easy to identify any areas that require additional scanning.

The scanner’s fully mobile design means there is no need to connect to a computer or external power source during scanning. With an exchangeable battery, onboard processing and wireless operation, users can move freely around the object without cables restricting movement.

View scan data in real time

The Artec Leo includes an integrated 5.5-inch touchscreen that displays a real-time 3D replica during scanning.

Colour-coded feedback helps users understand what has already been captured and where more data is needed. This makes the scanning process easier to control and helps reduce the risk of missing important areas.

For teams carrying out inspection, reverse engineering or quality control, this real-time guidance supports a more efficient and confident scanning process.

Support accurate and repeatable scanning

Artec Leo accuracy is supported by stable temperature control during scanning, helping the scanner maintain consistent performance.

The Artec Leo delivers up to 0.1 mm point accuracy, up to 0.2 mm 3D resolution and up to 0.1 mm + 0.3 mm/m accuracy over distance. It can also be used with a calibration certificate and the Leo Calibration Kit to support performance and quality throughout the scanning process.

This makes it suitable for demanding applications where precision and repeatability are important, including reverse engineering, inspection and quality control.

Scanning workflow

The Artec Leo is designed to keep the scanning process straightforward.

Users can scan directly with the device, view the captured data on the built-in screen and use real-time guidance to adjust their scanning position as needed. The hybrid target-free tracking system and intelligent scanning modes help make the process easier to manage, even when working with different object sizes or scanning conditions.

The scanner features onboard processing powered by the NVIDIA Jetson TX2 platform, allowing data capture without requiring a connected computer. A computer is only needed for processing scan data after acquisition.

HD Mode is also available, providing higher-quality capture of sharp edges and difficult-to-reach surfaces for applications where additional detail is required.

Artec Leo scanning capabilities

The Artec Leo 3D scanner is designed for a wide range of professional scanning applications.

Its wide field of view, fast reconstruction rates and wireless operation allow users to scan everything from individual components to large assemblies, vehicles and rooms.

Manufacturing and engineering

The Artec Leo can support 3D scanning for manufacturing by helping teams capture physical parts, components and objects for further digital use.

This can support workflows such as reverse engineering, inspection and quality control.

Scan a wide range of object sizes

The Artec Leo can scan anything from a vehicle exterior to individual components, production equipment, conveyor systems and larger environments.

Its working distance of 0.35 to 1.2 metres and wide field of view help users capture both large objects and smaller details efficiently.

Remote and mobile scanning

With its wireless design, built-in battery and onboard processing, the Artec Leo can be used in tight spaces, remote locations or while moving around the subject.

This makes it suitable for scanning where flexibility and mobility are important.

Accessories

Artec Leo accessories include the Leo Calibration Kit, battery packs, chargers and hard cases.

These accessories help support accuracy, mobility and protection, depending on the scanning environment and how the system is used.
